Between work, low ceilings and now the extreme cold, there has been no flying for me lately. Just checking in to let you know I am still here. I’m doing some studying every day and otherwise just riding out the middle of winter. I hope there will be some flying reports coming soon. Until then, stay warm.

Tell me about it, my last logbook entry is from 10/06/2007. *sigh*

BTW, I was looking at the comments to your post about passing your checkride. I KNOW I posted a message of congratulations, but it seems Blogger misplaced it. At any rate, I offer my belated congratulations. I followed your progress from the beginning and can’t help but feel I helped you on your way a little bit when you got started, so I’m very proud of you.

    Great work, Pilot!

    Hi Oblivion,

You did play a big part in getting me started and, I want to thank you for that again. As you know, the good news is that it is warmer. The bad news is that it is snowing! I will fly again…I will fly again.

    Hi Tom-

Been reading your blog for a while now, a belated congrats on the ticket.

I was wondering how much you pay to rent the 172 up at UGN? I have been renting at PWK for a while now and am looking to trade a bit of convenience for some additional hours in the “bank”.

I am paying $115 – $120 depending on which 172 I take. If you drop me an email at, I can give you more details about rentals at UGN.
