Getting The Covid Vaccine

Covid-19 Vaccine

Georgia and I use doctors associated with Advocate-Aurora Health. Last Wednesday we each got an email from them telling us we were eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Signing up was very easy. We just followed the link in the email and were able to schedule appointments for Friday. Then we were guided through an online pre-registration process involving a few health questions and a place to enter insurance information.

We had been seeing news reports of people spending hours on the phone and online trying to book vaccination appointments - usually without success. For us, it was all very convenient and quick. Thank you Advocate!

Friday morning we went to the local hospital at out appointed time. The conference rooms were set up to use as the vaccination area. We got in with no waiting in line, showed our IDs and got the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine all within a few minutes.

Everyone needed to stay in the room for 15 minutes after the shot to make sure there wouldn't be any allergic reaction. During that time one of the aides come over to us and scheduled out second dose. We will get that on March 1st.

We are on our way to being fully vaccinated. By mid March we should be at maximum immunity!
