Social Networking for Pilots

If you have been listening to just about any of the GA podcasts, you have probably heard about myTransponder.com. If you haven’t already been to the web site, you should take a look. The idea is much the same as other social networking sites like MySpace and FaceBook except that this one is for pilots and aviation buffs. My user name on myTransponder is IllinoisFlyer. If you decide to join, I hope you will look me up and add me to your friends list. I look forward to seeing many readers of this blog over on that site too. Don’t worry if your request isn’t accepted right away. I am leaving tomorrow for a three week trip to Europe so, I probably won’t be able to accept any friend requests until I get back.

Update: Please read the comment from Rod. Since myTransponder is still in beta, you will need an invite from him to join. Just sent an email to rod@myTransponder and he will take care of you. Type to you all in about 3 weeks.

Thank you for the shout out Tom!

I hope that we can get together and fly sometime. (Since I’m based at KMDW, I’ve been known to get up to KUGN occasionally!)

I appreciate you taking the time to participate in the beta.

Anyone who reads your blog is welcome to drop me a line to rod@myTransponder if they need an invite.

    🙂

    Rod

Thanks for the post Rod and thanks for all your work on myTransponder.

I am also glad you mentioned that the site is still in beta. I should have included that in my original post.
